5 stood outside the fail-safe walls of the sanctuary, gazing out into cold, vast emptiness. The low, orange horizon was dulled by a perpetual covering of gray clouds, clouds that made the days dark and the nights even darker. For miles in any direction there was nothing, nothing but ruin.
